Global leader in luxury yachting activities aims to capture Asia’s yachting market
Singapore, 3 April 2018 – In a major step forward to restructure Camper & Nicholsons Asia and implement the company’s strategic plans, Bart Kimman comes on board as the company’s new Commercial Director. With a recent expansion of the Sales and Charter teams, Bart will be spearheading the company’s strategic growth in the Asia market, working closely with Managing Director, Carmen Lau. “We are very pleased to have Bart join Camper & Nicholsons Asia to unveil a new chapter in the Asian yachting market. We needed an individual who is strategically minded, forward thinking with extensive personal and professional experience in yachting, particularly in our region – in Bart, we have found someone who will form an integral part of our dynamic new executive team and help us realise the full potential of Camper & Nicholsons in this crucial market,” says Lau. As a MYBA member and a fully qualified yacht broker, Bart specializes in the brokerage of large sailing superyachts. He is also the exclusive Asia Pacific representative for the Royal Huisman shipyard, who is currently building a second sailing superyacht for the Asian market.
Joint Venture with Lai Sun Development Company Ltd
In 2017 Camper & Nicholsons International (CNI), one of the major yachting service providers in the world announced its joint venture with their existing shareholder, Lai Sun Development Company Limited. This resulted in the strategic launch of Camper & Nicholsons Asia Holdings which enabled them to provide prestige yachting services to clients in Asia from the company’s office in Hong Kong. According to Bart, “The superyacht market in Asia is growing fast and the number of superyachts visiting Phuket has significantly increased. Thus, establishing an office in Thailand can help us to further expand our presence in the region.” The potential of the Asian market is therefore significant to the future of the yachting sector.
