To promote the spirit of competition with a new initiative, Hill Robinson introduced and presented a Teamwork Prize Award which consisted of a big basket of champagne and rum, along with two shiny new trophies and a plaque. This was awarded at the end of the regatta to the crew of Chinook to honour all of their endeavours on the water, as well as their great team spirit throughout the event.
To assist with the enjoyment of the event, Hill Robinson sponsored the Crew Paella Party on Thursday evening, for all participating crews to enjoy a large dish of paella, washed down by bottles of wine.
Since 1996, Les Voiles d’Antibes has been the first major European event of the classic yachting season and the opening event of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge. This year, the twenty third running of the event from May 30 to June 3, the fleet of classic boats competed in a series of match-races sparking competition between crews. The racing took place on a course around the coastal waters between the bay of Antibes and Juan-les-Pins.
