Numarine will unveil the new 40MXP superyacht MITAN at the Palm Beach International Boat Show, marking the world debut of the latest flagship in the shipyard’s successful XP Series. Positioned as a 40 metre Mediterranean Explorer, the 40MXP represents a refined evolution of Numarine’s explorer concept, combining long range capability with a strong focus on outdoor living.

A Mediterranean Approach to Exploration

MITAN is the second unit built on the 40MXP platform and has been tailored for a family oriented owner, with an emphasis on shared experiences on board and generous exterior spaces. The name MXP stands for Mediterranean Explorer, reflecting a design philosophy centred around open air living, social spaces and seamless circulation between interior and exterior areas. Developed as a natural progression from the 37XP, the 40MXP preserves the robust ocean going DNA of the XP Series, while placing greater importance on lifestyle versatility and comfort at anchor.

Design and Layout

The 40MXP features naval architecture by Umberto Tagliavini and exterior design by Can Yalman. The brief was clear. Maintain the explorer capabilities of the XP platform, while elevating the onboard experience to match that of a dedicated summer yacht. Accommodation is provided for up to 12 guests across six staterooms, including a full beam master suite on the main deck. Two additional cabin spaces can be customised depending on the owner’s preferences.

Performance and Range

An optimised hull form allows the 40MXP to achieve a transatlantic range of 6,000 nautical miles at 8 knots, positioning her as a true long range explorer. Standard propulsion is provided by twin MAN 800 horsepower engines, with an optional upgrade to twin MAN 900 horsepower engines for increased performance.

Outdoor Living as a Priority

One of the defining features of the 40MXP is her approach to exterior living.The aft deck is designed as a central social hub, featuring a pool that enhances the connection with the sea and reinforces the yacht’s Mediterranean identity. Throughout the yacht, deck spaces have been carefully designed to maximise usability, comfort and interaction, whether cruising or at anchor.

With the 40MXP, Numarine continues to expand its presence in the explorer yacht segment, offering a platform that balances autonomy, efficiency and lifestyle. Presented for the first time in Palm Beach, MITAN embodies a new generation of explorer yachts, where long distance capability meets a refined and highly liveable onboard experience.
