Cantiere delle Marche has launched OCTOPUS, the new 35-metre Deep Blue 115 explorer yacht developed with designer and naval architect Horacio Bozzo.

Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) has announced the launch of OCTOPUS, the latest addition to its Deep Blue explorer yacht family.

The new Deep Blue 115 builds on the concept first introduced with Acala, the 43-metre Deep Blue 141 delivered around three years ago. Following the strong response to that yacht, CdM and Horacio Bozzo developed a more compact evolution of the concept while retaining its explorer character, functionality and distinctive design language.

Explorer DNA in 35 metres

At 35 metres, OCTOPUS was conceived by exterior designer Horacio Bozzo as what he describes as a “pocket gentleman’s superyacht”, combining explorer capabilities with elegant proportions.

Rather than simply scaling down the larger Deep Blue design, the yacht was redesigned specifically around her dimensions. Her distinctive exterior includes the Deep Blue range’s flared bow and signature “beak look”, while the large main-deck windows form an important part of the yacht’s profile.

The exterior spaces have been designed with long-distance cruising and life at sea in mind. The main-deck cockpit incorporates a swimming pool, generous seating and storage, while a large swim platform creates an extensive beach area. A tender garage is positioned aft with a port-side opening hatch.

Interiors by Giorgio M. Cassetta

The interiors were entrusted to Giorgio M. Cassetta, who developed a colourful and eclectic interpretation of travelling and exploration. Organic forms, detailed finishes and exotic materials are combined throughout the interior.

OCTOPUS accommodates up to 10 guests plus two, across five suites including the owner’s quarters. Seven crew members are accommodated in four dedicated cabins.

Built for long-range exploration

Powered by twin Caterpillar C18 IMO Tier III engines, each producing 533 kW, OCTOPUS reaches a maximum speed of 13.5 knots.

With 45,000 litres of fuel capacity, she offers an impressive range of up to 5,500 nautical miles at 9 knots, reinforcing the long-distance capabilities behind the Deep Blue concept.
